Tyler’s path has been anything but linear, but a few central tenets have always guided the way: help others, act with integrity, and always stay curious.

Tyler enlisted in the Army while in high school

Utilizing the GI Bill, Tyler completed Undergraduate and Graduate studies, pursuing diverse disciplines ranging from Economics to Biomedical Anthropology. He jumped at the chance to learn, grow, and do good, including the opportunity to conduct epidemiological research in West Africa on the social and economic determinants of health among women and children.

After realizing that “pipetting all day” was not for him, Tyler pursued opportunities in public and higher education administration in New York and Colorado, Go Buffs!

Tyler left the University of Colorado to start a college and financial consulting firm in Denver, which would relocate to The Woodlands, Texas, two years later. Before a successful exit, Tyler and his team served families across the country, assisting with the college planning process, from saving to pay for future costs to navigating the admissions and financial aid process. They also consulted with government and university stakeholders on issues of military and veteran education.

Tyler followed the passion he had found for helping families with college planning to its natural conclusion…everything planning. Tyler returned to school to complete graduate education at Texas Tech’s School of Financial Planning (Wreck’em!), earned various credentials, becoming an Accredited Financial Counselor®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and Certified Financial Therapist™, and worked in financial services, growing his skills in financial counseling, planning, and therapy.

Today, Tyler works as a financial planner for a Registered Investment Advisor that primarily serves Military and Veteran families. And he is looking forward to continuing to grow, learn, and serve others in any way he can.
