What began as a small passion project has evolved into something more. Working to grow the field of financial therapy and the access everyone has to the great work being done by financial therapy professionals
What is Financial Therapy?
The Financial Therapy Association defines Financial Therapy as: “A process informed by both therapeutic and financial competencies that helps people think, feel, communicate, and behave differently with money to improve overall well-being through evidence-based practices and interventions.”
Financial therapy comprises professionals from the traditional disciplines of psychology, therapy, and financial services. Financial therapy practitioners cross-train in all relevant disciplines and use techniques that meet all licensing and best-practice requirements to best serve individuals with complex personal needs that can be emotional, psychological, and financial in nature.
Advocacy
As a former financial counselor and current financial planner, Tyler has applied his skills as a financial therapy professional in his day job to assist many individuals and families. He has seen the impact practitioners can make. But as a relatively new field, there is much work to be done to educate the public, promote the field's growth, and generally improve the well-being of others through financial therapy.
